Capacity building and nonpoint source funding process workshop

The Colorado Nonpoint Source Program and the Trees, Water and People organization will present a pre-conference workshop on Oct. 1, 2008, at the Sustaining Colorado Watersheds Conference.

This workshop will include information that organizations need to know when applying for funding under the Clean Water Act Section 319.  Key federal and state requirements for grant funding will be addressed.  Participants will learn how to be successful in pursuing, planning, developing and implementing projects funded by nonpoint source grants.

Local watershed groups will also learn how to continuously build their organizational capacity.  Workshop participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the importance of building capacity.
  • Identify areas where they would like to strengthen their group.
  • Formulate strategies for addressing their priority needs.
  • Access Trees, Water and People’s programs and services.
